Biography

Al Gore is one of my heros. Bill McKibben is another, as is Jim Hansen, Lester Brown and the list goes on. The hand on my shoulder is one of them. Can you guess? (Answer below.)

BTW, Bill, Jim and Lester ask you to join the http://www.MillionLetterMarch.org

I first heard Mr. Gore present his slide show on NPR and "saw" the glaciers, hurricanes, charts and graphs in my mind's eye. That was at 2 AM Dec 21, 2004. The message impacted me so, I did not sleep the rest of the night. I visualized myself giving the presentation and decided then and there to work toward that end, to become fully involved in solving climate change. Within a year, I joined CalEPA Air Resources Board as a first move to help reduce GHGs (working on AB 32), and when I heard Al's interview on MoveOn.org I submitted my application immediately.

I am very thankful to be a part of TCRP. I love my new avocation. TCRP community and presentations have opened doors, networking and energy I never would have imagined! I had another awakening when I discovered John Seed's "Climate Change Despair & Empowerment Roadshow" presented by Kelly Tudhope http://bit.ly/KellysStory ...
Please also refer to Paulina's vision statement at http://bit.ly/PaulinasProfile regarding Mr. Gore's 10 point plan deliverd to Congress.

Recently, I participated in Professional Engineers in California Government's movie "The Next Frontier: Engineering the Golden Age of Green" which is a global look at innovative local action to implement energy solutions to avert global warming. Tell your friends about the good news solutions http://www.thenextfrontiermovie.com

My presentation has evolved over the past four years, and the current version follows Randy Olson's admonishment "Don't be such a scientist." I aim for the heart and gut instead of the brain with "Climate: What's Love Got To Do With It?"

March 20 (Vernal Equinox) I sprang into my new life of activism http://bit.ly/EncoreCareers_Doug
