Biography

Miranda Ko is a regionally renowned speaker, science communication consultant, and news personality, widely known for her work with Al Gore and was named Green Goddess by Women’s Health Magazine. She speaks regularly at classrooms, seminars, and conferences across California about the reality of climate change and the urgency to act.

Miranda serves as a judge for the annual National Ocean Science Bowl, docent for the Birch Aquarium, and advisor to the Civic Leadership Fund at UCSD. The Ocean Discovery Institute has honored her as Featured Volunteer of the Year. Miranda was also named Climate Queen by the California Center for Sustainable Energy. She has a background of Earth Science - Geophysics from UCSD, Scripps Institution of Oceanography and was awarded the Outstanding Student Paper Award by the American Geophysical Union for her research on earthquakes. She now lives in San Diego, CA.
